Alpha TV went live in 1993 as Skai TV, mainly broadcasting news ans sports. The channel was sold in 1994 and wad renamed into Alpha Sky and later into A-Sky. It became the actual name in 2000. It was owned and operated by the RTL Group since 2008 until 2012 when the RTL Group sold its majority of stocks to the minor shareholder Dimitris Kontominas. The schedule consists of entertainment shows, movies and series. The broadcast is available in 4:3 and 16:9 format.
