Cambodia TV Online Channels

The first test transmission took place in Cambodia in 1996. The channel was owned by the public broadcaster Redio Diffusion Nationale Khmere and it the initial broadcast was for 12-14 hours a day. The headquarter was destroyed in 1975 by the Khmer Rouge, followers of the Communist Party of Kampuchea. Only in 1983 the government established a new television station broadcasting since 1 March 1985 under the name TVK. It switched to color in 1986 and mainly promoted the communist government. In the late 90s, the government allow the broadcast of private channels, but the transmission has to shut down at 12 am and resume in the morning on 6 am since 2008. Most of the people of Cambodia prefer to watch foreign channels, mostly from Thailand.
