WALA-TV started its online broadcast on 14 January 1953. It was the second TV channel in Mobile, Alabama, available analog terrestrial on VHF 10. Its name stands for We Are Loyal Alabamians. Through the years, it was affiliated to NBC, CBS, Dumont and ABC. Today, Wala-TV is affiliated to the Fox Network and covers the Southeastern part of Mississippi and Southern Alabama. IT switched from analog to digital transmission on 12 June 2009, while also moving to channel 9.
