KVOA went online for the first time on 15 September 1953. It was the second TV channel to serve the city of Tucson and the surroundings. From its beginnings, KVOA was affiliated to the NBC network. IT was established by John Louis and is now owned and operated by the Charleston based Evening Post Publishing Company through its division Cordillera Communications. The VOA in the name stands for Voice of Arizona. The online broadcast is available terrestrial on channel 4 VHF but also on most cable networks and via satellite signal.
