IB3 started its live test transmission on 1 March 2005. The channel started its official broadcast in May 2005. It is owned and operated by the public broadcaster of the Balearic Islands, Ente Público de Radiotelevisión de las Islas Baleares (EPRTVIB). IB3 reaches a market share of 5.5% (as June 2012). The broadcast is exclusively available in the Catalan language and features series, movies, news and various entertainment programs. The foreign movies and series are dubbed.
