Center TV Russia started its live transmission on 14 February 1956 as Moscow Program 2. It is hold and managed by the Administration of the city of Moscow. It was formerly known as Moscow Program (1967-1976), Moscow Channel 3 (1976-1984), Moscow Television 3 (1984-1988), Moscow Network Channel 3 (1988-1991) and MTK Moscow (1991-1997). It reaches a market share of #5 in Russia only (as July 2009). Since it is a very old station, established during the Soviet Union, it is still available in countries of the former USSR like Georgia, Ukraine or Estonia.
