RTP1

RTP1 was launched live on 7 March 1957. It was the first5 channel of the national public broadcaster of Portugal RTP. It was initially known as RTP until 24 December 1968 when it became RTP Canal 1. The name was changed again to just Canal 1 on 17 September 1990, becoming later RTP1. The programming grid is dedicated to the whole family including news, domestic and foreign series, game shows, soaps, sports and talk shows. RTP1 reaches a market share of around 13% (as 2012).
