ABS-CBN began broadcasting live on 23 October 1953 being the oldest TV channel in the country. It is owned and operated by the ABS-CBN Corporation, the largest media group in the country. It is the most watched TV channel in the country reaching a market share of 425 (as July 2012). It was also known as BBS-2 (Banahaw Broadcasting Corporation 2) between November 1973 and 26 February 1986. The studios are located in Quezon City.
