TV Peru started its live transmission on 17 January 1958 from Santa Beatriz, Lima. As the national broadcaster of Peru, it is owned and operated by the National Institute of Radio and Television (RTPI). The terrestrial signal is available on VHF 7 in Lima and Callao but also digital terrestrial in HD since 30 March 2010 on channel 16. Peru TV is also available on cable like DirecTV and Movistar TV but also on satellite dish offered by operators like Claro TV and Peru Cable.
