SNT Cerro Cora began its online broadcast on 29 September 1965. The TV channel is owned by the state and operated by Sistema Nacional de Televisión S.A (National Television System). TV Cerro Cora was the first TV station to be established in the country. It is widely known as Canal 9 due to its terrestrial availability on Channel 9 in Cerro Cora. It is also available nationwide terrestrial, on satellite operators, on all major cable networks as well as on IPTV networks. It switched to color broadcast in 1978 in order to provide a better viewing experience.
