Once TV went live on 2 March 1959 from the St. Thomas campus owned by the Instituto Politecnico Nacional as Channel 11 XEIPN. It had a poor coverage area due to its low 5KW transmitter being mostly available some km around the facilities. The transmission is entirely dedicated to educational and cultural programs. It is available terrestrial throughout the country like analog on VHF 11 or digital on channel 33 in Mexico City.
