Rai 3

Rai 3 is the third channel of the national public broadcaster of Italia RAI. Its live broadcast started on 15 December 1979 as Rete 3. The name was changed into RaiTRE on 1983 until the 18th of May 2010 when it became Rai 3. The schedule is more dedicated to local and regional programming and consists of news, cultural and educational programs, programs for children as well as soap operas, series, movies and general entertainment. The transmission is available in 16:9 format and reaches a market share of 9.28% (as December 2011). The terrestrial broadcast is available on LCN 3 in most parts of the country.
