Zee Studio went live on 15 March 2000 as Zee Movies. It was renamed as Zee MGM as the Zee Group closed a partnership with MGM in October 2000. ON 1 October4 2004 Sony Entertainment acquired MGM and the channel was renamed as Zee Movie Zone. Later, on 27 March 2005, Zee updated its channels and renamed it as Zee Studio.
