Franken Fernsehen went live on 1 November 1995 as Franken Life. It is a private regional television channel for the regions of Nürnberg, Furth-Erlangen and Mittelfranken. It was renamed in 1997 as RTL Franken LIfe TV since it changed the transmission frequency. It 2003 the channel was relaunched with new image and design as Franken TV which was changed later, on 2 November 2010, to the current name. The channel is available via terrestrial broadcast, on cable and via satellite signal.
