Paris Premiere began its live broadcast on 15 December 1986. It was founded by the Paris City Hall in partnership with the Lyonnaise des Eaux Group and was aimed initially to be available only on cable. It was acquired by the M6 Group in 2001 and since than its audience increased by 65%, and its signal is available today on cable, via digital terrestrial signal, IPTV, xDSL and satellite dish. Its HD version was launched at the beginning of 2012 and it plans to extend on demand of various companies and ISPs.
