Cine+ Premier was released live on 7 January 1991 as CineCinemas. The channel is part of the big CANAL+ group. The name was changed into CineCinemas 1 in September 1998 as its programming grid was changed. Again, on 17 May 2011 the Group updated its channels the the studios and changed the name into Canal+ Premier.
