TV3 started its live transmission on 1 January 1996 as a result of EVTV and RTV merger. the channel is owned and run by the Sweedish Modern Times Group company and reaches a market share of 13.4% in the country. (as December 2011). The channel was relaunched with new design and logo in 2009 due to decrease of ranking and growing audience of its main competitor Kanal 2. Its image and programming grid was once again improved on 15 August 2011.
