CERTV went on air for the first time on 1 August 1952 as La Voz Dominicana. It is owned by the national public broadcaster of the Dominican Republic, Corporation Estatal de Radio y Television. It is available oh channel 4 in Santo Domingo and the surroundings, channel 12 in southwest of the country and 5 in the northern part. Its was renamed as RTVD standing for Radio Television Dominicana in 1970 and again on 29 July 2003 to its actual name.
