Global BC (CHAN-DT)

Global BC (CHAN-DT) started its live transmission on 31 October 1960 as an independent television station. The channel was founded by Vantel Broadcasting. It became a part CTV affiliate on 1 October 1961. CHAN was acquired in 1963 by Griffits Western Broadcasting and became a full affiliate for CTV in 1981. It was renamed as BCTV from 1973 until 2001 when it became Global BC. The schedule consists of the national CTV broadcast and local newscasts. Global BC is available terrestrial on digital channel 22 UHF in Vancouver and thanks to repeaters in the whole region.
