CTV Saskatoon went on air in December 1954. The station was founded by the Murphy Family. It is also known by its call sign CFQC. It began initially as a CBC affiliate and started airing CTV broadcasts in 1969. The station became a full time CTV affiliate in 1971. CFQC was acquired by Baton Broadcasting in 1972. The station was known during time as TV8, QC or QC8. CFQC-TV changed from analog to digital transmission on 31 August 2001 and is available terrestrial on VHF channel 8.
