CTV Montreal live broadcast started as CFCF-TV on 20 January 1961. The station was founded by Canadian Marconi Company. It was the second private English language channel in Quebec. CTV Montreal was sold to Multiple Access Ltd. in 1979, who sold it later, in 1979 to CFCF Inc. Bell Media bought the television station in 2001 and renamed it into CTV on 3October 2005.
