La Une

La Une went officially live on 31 October 1953, after 4 months of experimental broadcasts. The channel is owned and operated by the national public broadcaster of Belgium, RTBF. It was initially launched as INR1 until 1960 when it was renamed as RTB1. The name was changed in 1977 into RTBF1 and it finally became La Une in 1997.
