NTV began its live broadcast on 3 July 2003 as the first satellite channel in Bangladesh. The name stands for National Television and it is owned and operated by the government of the country. Due to its wide programming grid including news, drama, magazines, music, programs for children and various entertainment NTV became the most watched channel in Bangladesh.
